Your Mind-Body Coaches
Michelle Wiegers is a mind-body coach, writer and poet who found her creative voice and mind-body coaching work after recovering from over twenty-five years of chronic pain, fibromyalgia, sciatica, CFS, POTS, and Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome pain. Through Dr. Howard Schubiner’s teachings and other vital mind-body resources, she recovered from TMS, going from barely being able to walk, to leading an active life. Michelle is committed to creating restorative healing experiences through her online group courses and is thrilled to offer you her self-guided course How We Heal Chronic Pain & Fatigue. She coaches and teaches using mind-body science and creativity to help clients and students discover the truth inside of their symptoms and stories, so they can recover and take their lives back. To help her clients take their healing deeper, she wrote the How We Heal course. Michelle received her life coaching training with Awaken Coach Institute and holds a certificate in Spiritual Leadership with Leadership Transformations Inc.
Both Michelle and Jill also studied with mind-body medical experts Dr. Howard Schubiner and Hal Greenham in their Practitioner Training in Practical Neuroplasticity and The Emerging Mindbody Revolution in Chronic Pain Treatment.
Jill Pratt is a life and mind-body coach who works with professionals around the world focused on global social justice issues. Having used the mind-body approach to heal from over 20 years of chronic migraine, neck and back pain, TMJ, and other symptoms, Jill brings this life-changing work into her coaching with a passion for educating others on how they can heal from neuroplastic symptoms.
Prior to becoming a coach, Jill’s most recent work focused on advocacy in the Middle East. She holds a MA in Cross-Cultural Studies from Fuller School of Intercultural Studies, and has a Brené Brown Dare to Lead Trained certification. In addition to coaching clients, Jill serves as the Impact Producer for mind-body medicine’s leading documentary, This Might Hurt, which follows three chronic pain patients as they go through Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy (EAET) treatment.

Course Q & A
- HOW DO I KNOW IF I’M READY FOR THIS COURSE? You’ve had major disease or structural causes ruled out by your medical practitioners. We are not doctors and cannot diagnose you. It’s essential that you see your medical professional to evaluate your symptoms prior to this class. Your symptoms haven’t improved long term by treatments that you’ve tried. You’re open to exploring your life experiences, emotions and physical sensations as pathways to healing. You are eager to work with thought patterns to retrain your brain. You appreciate learning in a supportive community.
- WHAT SYMPTOMS RESPOND TO MIND-BODY WORK? Assuming there’s no major structural or pathological issue, How We Heal can help with chronic back, neck or shoulder pain, chronic fatigue, migraine, fibromyalgia, CRPS, POTS, some symptoms related to Long Covid, irritable bowel and bladder, pelvic pain, TMJ, repetitive stress injuries, hypersensitivity syndromes, anxiety, insomnia and other stress-related conditions. It can also help with pain thought to be caused by Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome. (EDS) See a complete list of questions and diagnoses on the Psychophysiologic Disorders Association website.
- WHAT ARE SIGNS OF STRESS-RELATED SYMPTOMS? Your symptoms flare up with emotional or life stress. They start during a difficult time in your life, or with a previous illness or injury. You’ve worked with multiple practitioners, tried many treatments and still suffer with chronic symptoms. Symptoms come and go or move around the body. You’ve experienced one or more stress-related conditions—such as back pain and headaches or fibromyalgia and anxiety.

Yes, when coaches are available, students of How We Heal can purchase additional 1:1 coaching sessions with Michelle Wiegers or Jill Pratt as you study in the course. - COULD MY BRAIN REALLY BE CAUSING MY VERY REAL AND PHYSICAL SYMPTOMS? Your chronic symptoms are absolutely 100% real and you feel them in your body. But we know that stress-related symptoms are generated by the subconscious mind. When dealing with life stress or repressed emotions our brains go into protective mode on our behalf, creating symptoms. Mind-body symptoms are a normal human experience. Everyone can relate to feeling sick to your stomach before a big test or difficult conversation. These are all symptoms created by the brain and emotions. We now know chronic symptoms connect with and are perpetuated by our brains in this same way.
